What led you to Elevate?
The collective of passionate experts who work here.
What do you appreciate about Elevate?
There is a strong commitment from staff to further their knowledge through research and working with specific professional teams or groups and used to provide the best possible treatments. Clients are receiving care which is relevant, effective and at the forefront of health research.
What areas do you specialise in or treat?
My primary interest is the problem-solving side of treatment. I will work in close consultation with other practitioners to tailor each session to suit the individuals needs. I’m especially interested in the arts sector, particularly dance. Through work experience with dance specific-mentors, I understand the fine balance between treating injuries and relaxing the body and have developed a deep understanding of the lower leg and foot.
What are your core beliefs about wellness and health?
Maintaining balance is my approach to overall health. The body is a complex system – we need to allow for give and take.
What mistakes do patients make?
Patients need to take an active role in recovery and maintenance. It takes 21 days to form a habit, so we can use that as a benchmark for forming a new healthier one. It’s about practice and consistency in establishing good habits.
What key health lessons do you like to impart to patients?
Make healthy living a part of your life and do what works, so you can enjoy it. Health is physical and mental and part of that is a sense of community and laughter!
What do you enjoy about your job?
The diversity of working with patients on specific injuries, or holding the space for total relaxation. There are always new challenges and scenarios creating opportunities for exploration and research. Working with a patient and seeing progress towards their goal is very exciting.
