What is your area of expertise?
From working in sport and having a background in sport and exercise science, I feel particularly comfortable with rehabilitation programming starting from acute injury all the way through to top end high-performance conditioning. I particularly enjoy working with lower limb injuries and the sporting hip and groin conditions.
What do you appreciate about Elevate?
Elevate provides excellent opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary setting. This allows for good access to many different thought processes that provides clients with the utmost care.
What are your core beliefs about wellness and health?
Health and wellness is a lifestyle, it is about balance across all areas, physical and psychosocial.
What mistakes do patients make?
Failure of consistency, sticking to a plan and trusting the process is key to maximizing your outcome. Just because it doesn’t hurt anymore does not mean the area is ready to be exposed to pre-injury stresses.
What key health lessons do you like to impart to patients?
Having a plan, structure and an end-stage target is critical to success. Knowing where you are, where you want to be and how to get there can be very powerful.
What do you enjoy about your job?
I enjoy managing sporting injuries and creating athletic performance based exercise programming.
Tell us a little about your credentials.
I first completed a Bachelor of Health Science (Sport and Exercise Science), which allowed me to develop excellent strength and conditioning concepts and applications. After completion of this degree, I then achieved my Doctor of Physiotherapy degree. Through my time I have had the opportunity to work with multiple NRL, NSWRL and AFL teams. I am currently the physiotherapist for Sydney Uni AFL (NEAFL) squad.
