Dr Ava Lam graduated from University of Melbourne in 2009 and has gained experience in various areas of medicine including obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, psychiatry and rehabilitation medicine prior to completing her Fellowship of General Practice in 2014.
Ava has broad experience in the full range of General Practice medicine with a special interest in women’s health, family planning, fertility, digestive health and preventive healthcare. As well, she provides travel advice, immunisations and contraception including contraceptive implant insertion and removal.
Ava strongly believes in providing thorough care and working with her patients. She provides an empathetic and holistic approach, addressing the connection between physical and psychological health, lifestyle and social wellbeing to achieve optimal health. Her expertise includes:

To better manage and improve the health of patients with chronic medical conditions, Ava also provides a GP management plan, which identifies health management goals and actions in consultation with individual patients. This plan facilitates more effective coordination of patient care between the GP, specialists and allied health practitioners. With this plan in place, eligible patients can be referred for five Medicare subsidized sessions per calendar year as well as Medicare rebates for allied health services.
