Dr Ava Lam graduated from University of Melbourne in 2009 and has gained experience in various areas of medicine including obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics, psychiatry and rehabilitation medicine prior to completing her Fellowship of General Practice in 2014.
Ava has broad experience in the full range of General Practice medicine with a special interest in women’s health, family planning, fertility, digestive health and preventive healthcare. As well, she provides travel advice, immunisations and contraception and is qualified for Implanon insertion and removal.
Ava strongly believes in providing thorough care and working with her patients. She provides an empathetic and holistic approach, addressing the connection between physical and psychological health, lifestyle and social wellbeing to achieve optimal health. Her expertise includes:

To better manage and improve health of patients with chronic medical conditions, Ava also provides a GP management plan, which identifies management goals and actions in consultation with individual patients. This plan aims to facilitate more effective coordination of patient care between the GP, specialist and allied health members. With this plan in place, eligible patients are able to be referred for five Medicare subsidized sessions per calendar year to allied health providers in relation to their health goals. They are eligible for Medicare rebates for allied health services on referral from a GP.
