What led you to Elevate?

Elevate believes in a patient-centered approach, focusing on delivering exceptional and integrative healthcare.  At Elevate, not only do I have the opportunity to impact the lives of individuals, I am also able to impact entire communities via Elevates’ corporate health programs.  Being able to provide healthcare in a variety of forms is a very attractive aspect of my job.

What do you appreciate about Elevate?

Elevate strives to lead by example by providing a broad range of health services.  They take on a balanced approach to healthcare and place a strong focus on caring for each individual based on their specific needs.  We live in a very integrated society, and I believe Elevate has the right idea when viewing health through a multi-factorial lens.

What are your core beliefs about wellness and health?

Physical, emotional and spiritual self-empowerment, in my opinion, are key aspects to reaching optimal health and wellness.  The physical realm involves necessities such as maintaining a healthy diet, adequate sleep and exercise, while the emotional and spiritual side speaks to the importance of a positive attitude and having a deep appreciation and connection for life and all existence.

What mistakes do patients make?

Self-doubt is the number one villain that robs patients of their perseverance and willingness to continue on in their journey to optimal health.  Set backs should not be viewed as failures.  Rather than getting lost in the fog of frustration, consider these minor road bumps as lessons learned, and carry on!

What Key Health lessons do you like to impart to patients?

Time management skills, self-empowerment and self-confidence will allow patients to tackle any health issue head on.  In order to make a positive and permanent change to your health, one must address their willingness to be open to the experience, and understand that prevention is key to maintaining optimal health.

What do you enjoy about your job?

Working with people and helping to improve the quality of their lives is very important to me in doing my job.  Educating and empowering patients to take control of their own health is a rewarding experience.  I am giving patients indispensable tools they can carry with them the rest of their lives.

Tell us a little about your credentials?

My education has been obtained in Canada, England, and Australia.  My first diploma is in Fitness and Health Promotion, followed by a BA in Exercise Science, a diploma in both Western Herbal Medicine and Applied Holistic Nutrition, and I completed my Master of Public Health, specializing in Public Health Nutrition.  I have taken several short introductory courses in Chinese medicine, Ayurvedic medicine, iridology, naturopathic nutrition, natural skin care, and homeopathy.  I am currently practicing as a Naturopath, Nutritionist, and Herbalist, and am training in bioresonance therapy.  My special interests include digestive health and immunity, and healing modalities using energetic therapies, such as bioresonance therapy.

What are your extracurricular passions?

I love sports of all types, but I am an exceptionally keen tennis player, swimmer and skier.  I am a certified pilates instructor and take the time, in the evenings and weekends, unwinding in pilates and yoga classes.  I am excited and looking forward to experiencing the fun of surfing this year.  I enjoy painting on canvass and creating contemporary works of art, full of texture and colour.  Cooking is another passion of mine, which allows me to experiment with foods and spices, while creating tasty and delicious meals for my family and friends.  I have a soft spot for animals, and when I have spare time, I take great pleasure in volunteering at animal shelters.
